Amy Sykes Gets Win #14 on WNDA

Connecticut's Amy Sykes won her 14th WNDA pro tour in grand style on July 15th at Parkville Lanes in Baltimore, MD. Averaging 152 in 14 games over the weekend, Sykes would ultimately defeat recently returning WNDA member and past tour winner from Canada, Melissa Llewellyn in the final.

Sykes, who qualified 2nd behind Janet Sauter during the Saturday qualifying round with 1152, waltzed through the head-to-head match play on Sunday with a 5-0 record and superior 813 pinfall to earn the top seeding on the ladder.

In Game 1 of the stepladder finals, Stephanie Adams defeated newcomer Becky Airhart, 127-115. Then Mindy Thomas took charge with a 146-121 victory over Adams, but in turn, would be upended by Melissa Llewellyn, 153-131. Sykes then completed her run without losing a step on offense with a 171-142 effort over Llewellyn.
